To use an authenticator app go through this following steps :
1. Download a two-factor authenticator app like Microsoft or Google Authenticator for Windows phone, Android and iOS
(Click on one of the authenticators that you want to use)

2. Scan the QR Code below or enter this key XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX (26 Codes) into your factor authenticator app. Spaces & Casing do not matter.
3. Once you have scanned the QR code or input the key above, yout two-factor authentication app will provide you with a unique code.
4 .Enter the code in the confirmation box on PROFILE PAGE – SECURITY.
